Sister Joyelle Proot was one of 60 national and local artists whose creations were featured in “Beyond Belief,” a group exhibit at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild. “Beyond Belief” was juried by David Brinker, Director of the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA) at St. Louis University.

“Beyond Belief” highlighted art representing the moods of our souls - from darkness to light. The exhibit addressed mysticism, otherworldly forces, inspiration, the divine and human.

Artists’ work reflected their inner journey, narratives and symbolism that transformed into creative epiphanies and spiritual.

Annunciation, Sister Joyelle’s submission, used religious imagination in her black and white photo of three young girls.

“Beyond Belief” artwork may be viewed on the St. Louis Artists Guild website.
