Staying positive during COVID-19

The School Sisters of Notre Dame Central Pacific Province are praying and acting to slow the spread of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). With the ever-changing news and concerns around COVID-19, sisters are taking every precaution to protect themselves and the essential lay staff who continue to work with them. Sister Mary Kay Gosch, campus administrator for Our Lady of Good Counsel, Mankato, Minnesota, says, “There is a good deal of concern, however we are staying positive, praying and keeping physically and mentally active.”

Honoring Earth every day

The School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) continue to show that the choices we make daily can help repair the tear in the fabric of life caused by a consumer mentality that replaces rather than fixes, that considers Earth to be a resource for our use no matter the consequences, and that pays no attention to waste disposal. Sister Maxine Pohlman shares a few examples of what SSND have implemented throughout the Central Pacific Province in an effort to protect the Earth. Sister Maxine states, “As we move into the future, caring for creation will continue to be an essential aspect of our lives as SSND not only on Earth Day, April 22, but every day of the year.”
