The School Sisters of Notre Dame Central Pacific Province is part of an international community of women religious whose mission is to proclaim the good news, directing their entire lives toward that oneness for which Jesus Christ was sent. The sisters live and minister in 62 dioceses, 25 states, Ghana, Guam, Italy, Japan, Kenya and Nepal. They continue the sacred work of their foundress, Blessed Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger, to transform the world through education, giving special emphasis to women, young people and those who are poor. St. Louis is the most central location for sisters, whose ministries help individuals and communities in need. Education is central to the mission, and sisters minister as teachers, administrators and tutors at Notre Dame High School, Marian Middle School and other schools and educational centers throughout the community. Sisters also teach local immigrants and refugees English through the English Tutoring Project and help rehabilitate recently released prisoners through the Criminal Justice Ministry.

Mission

Our mission as School Sisters of Notre Dame is to proclaim the good news, directing our entire lives toward that oneness for which Jesus Christ was sent. As Jesus was sent to show God's love to the world, we are sent to make Christ, to make God, visible by our very being, by sharing our love, faith, and hope.
