National Catholic Sisters Week, March 8-14, 2014

Celebrating Sisters

National Catholic Sisters Week’s second annual celebration is March 8-14, 2015. Created to honor women religious, the week is intended to instruct, enlighten and bring greater focus to the lives of these incredible women. It’s a chance to recognize all they have done. It’s also hoped that as more young women learn about women religious, more will choose to follow their example.

Women religious serve God through a diversity of ministries. Some live cloistered lives in contemplative prayer, while others work on the frontlines of global change, striving to improve various aspects of society, from environmental change to healthcare reform to human rights issues. All find ways to make the world a better place. They may have had a positive impact in your life through their work in your community, even if you didn’t know they were women religious. We invite you to learn more and get to know the sisters near you!

National Catholic Sisters Week is supported by a $3.3 million grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, is headquartered at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn., and is held in conjunction with National Women’s History Month.
