A Rabbi, a professor, a police chief and an attorney walk into a room

A Rabbi, a professor, a police chief, and an attorney walk into the room…sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, doesn’t it? But it’s not, it’s an important reminder to attend one of our remaining School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) annual Women’s Leadership Luncheons in St. Paul, Minnesota, March 14, and Dallas, March 19.

Struggle, solidarity and hope: Human rights in Honduras

Last fall, Associate Heather Thomas Flores, and Sister Stephanie Spandl traveled to Honduras as part of a delegation to support human rights and bear witness to the real-world struggles resulting from ongoing conflicts for land and water in the region. Through their conversations and connections with advocates, activists and School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) based in the country, they learned first-hand the challenges these communities are facing. They were also deeply inspired by the dedicated efforts of those who seek to bring about much needed and meaningful change, despite potential threats to their own safety and security.

Make a difference

The Blessed Theresa Society, named after the School Sisters of Notre Dame’s foundress, Blessed Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger, recognizes individuals and families who have made a long-term commitment through a planned gift. This legacy society provides a way for us to recognize and thank donors who have named SSND in their estate plans.
