The Grateful Five

Thanksgiving Blessings 2013The Grateful Five offers a process to slow down, pause and open our hearts to thankfulness for the everyday gifts God gives us. The Grateful Five is a simple way to be aware and reflective of those many blessings we receive daily. Consider beginning a journal, writing down five things you are grateful for on this day. These blessings may be as simple as time to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or wearing a new sweater. Or they may be more complex as an old friend calling to meet you for lunch or spending time with someone who is sick. Maybe number one on your list of five is rising early to see an exquisite sunrise.

The Grateful Five encourages us to have a thankful heart, to acknowledge the blessings we receive each day. Writing down five of what might be everyday blessings nurtures our desire to live a grateful life. Thanksgiving is a celebration once a year; being grateful every day is a wonderful reminder of God’s goodness and providence.

Who or what are you especially grateful today? in this year?
