From small beginnings… a mighty oak rises

Our planet faces many challenges. The EDGE (Education Dreams for a Green Era) offers learning opportunities to work, individually and communally, for the well-being of earth and all who reside here. Though a little acorn seems insignificant; how it grows!

The EDGE is an ecological ministry inspired by the science and spirituality of the evolving Universe Story. Based on this vision of unity, programs educate adults and youth to live in a way beneficial to all of creation. The EDGE is a subsidized ministry of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Central Pacific Province.

It is no secret that as a planet, we are in crisis. Harmful effects of well-intended choices of the past are waking humankind to a healthy way of being in relationship to each other and to the many others within our earth community. The EDGE is an active force uniting with people of courage and hope to promote awareness of these sacred bonds.

How? We integrate the sacredness and science of the Universe Story into our education programs. Based on the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we affirm the core of the Universe Story, that all is interconnected, interrelated, one. And we effect positive change by leading others to a greater love of the planet.
