National Catholic Sisters Week, March 8-14, 2014

Celebrating Sisters

National Catholic Sisters Week is debuting in conjunction with Women's History Month. The week will be held from March 8-14, 2014, and is intended to shine a national spotlight on the good works of Catholic sisters. The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation funded a three-year grant to St. Catherine University, St. Paul-Minneapolis to lead the campaign of promoting the numerous contributions of women religious. The initiative will highlight contributions of Catholic sisters in: education, healthcare, social change, the church/spiritual life, and women’s leadership.

As the project centerpiece, a digital resource hub will deliver audio, video, archival and other educational content to the public. Key project elements include a dynamic website and corresponding digital campaign; a broad spectrum of oral histories of Catholic sisters developed by university students as interviewers, film makers and writers; a significant documentary developed in collaboration with Twin Cities Public Television’s national productions unit; web-based curriculum materials for middle school, high school and college women; and a series of creative events to bring together young women and women religious.

The National Catholic Sisters Week (NCSW) website is under construction. In the meantime, you can follow NCSW on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/NationalCatholicSistersWeek and Twitter – https://twitter.com/NCSWeek.
