Called to Holiness

Sisters join in the fun.January 13-19 is National Vocation Awareness Week, a time reflect and draw deeper into relationship with God. God calls people in different ways. For most, there is no lightning bolt or a supernatural vision. Often God’s call is found deep in our hearts, although many times it takes a leap of faith to respond.

Hearing the call requires listening to the Holy Spirit and learning to hear God’s voice through other voices. To remain single, to marry, to join a religious congregation or the priesthood means leaving the familiar behind and walking into the unknown.

As baptized Christians, we are called everyday to walk in the path of holiness and to participate in the work of salvation of Christ to build up God’s Kingdom for the whole world.

National Vocation Awareness WeekWhatever the decision, “every vocation, every path to which Christ calls us, ultimately leads to fulfillment and happiness, because it leads to God, to sharing in God’s own life.”
~Pope John Paul II
