Celebrating the stories, speakers and sponsors of luncheon events |
| |
| |
Throughout the month of March, School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) hosted four Women’s Leadership Luncheons across the Central Pacific Province. With the theme of “Women as educators in all we are and do,” a series of unique speakers each shared their take on the concept, ways they educate others and the wider impact women make in their communities.
For their ongoing support and generosity, which allows us to offer this event free of charge to our attendees, we extend our gratitude and heartfelt thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, Ann Kampeter, and our $5,000 Sponsors: Ascension, Bayer, Jim Butler Auto Group, Catholic Housing Initiative, Many Hands Many Lands and Midwest BankCenter. We also thank our Venue Sponsors, River City Casino & Hotel, for their hospitality in St. Louis and Italian Community Center for welcoming us in Milwaukee.

Walking shoes: Our last steps to Easter |
| |
| |
You’ve been wearing your Lenten walking shoes for weeks! At times, you’ve stopped and looked into the mirror of where you are and where you still need to go. You’ve been fed with the words of the Gospel to fire your journey and have drunk from the waters of Redemption to quench your thirst. You’ve carried and given away the alms of hope, compassion, forgiveness and peace in your pockets. Continue your fast from needless worry, anger and hurtful speech as you walk the last steps to Easter. You’re almost there!
Through a reflection that touches on the special meaning of the final days of Lent, Sister Patricia Lange helps walk us to Easter.

A fond farewell to Sancta Maria in Ripa |
| |
| |
From its perch above the Mississippi River, Sancta Maria in Ripa, St. Louis, has been a long-held and much-loved home to School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) for more than a century. In recognition of changing times and the congregation’s changing needs, the difficult decision has been made to list the property for sale. While no sale is currently pending, the decision has set into motion a necessary process of farewell. As SSND balances the practical matters of a move of this magnitude, so too, has the news allowed for moments of special celebration and remembrance.

Ways to give
| |
For those inspired by the mission of SSND and considering ways to offer support, there are many options for doing so. Whether a one-time donation, special tribute or sustained plan through our giving societies, all gifts help to provide for the ongoing work of sisters in our local communities and across the globe—while also ensuring the well-earned care of the sisters themselves upon retirement.
