Featured Speakers:
Isabelle Cherney, Ph.D.
President of Mount Mary University
Isabelle Cherney, Ph.D., is a respected social scientist and educator who was invited by the Obama administration on four occasions to participate in White House conferences. She became the 13th president of Mount Mary University, Milwaukee, July 1, 2022.
As president of Mount Mary University, Cherney has laid the foundations for growth through restructuring the academy and starting many new programs. Mount Mary University was ranked #1 in Social Mobility in the Midwest two years in a row, the Fashion Design program was ranked #10 in the nation and Occupational Therapy was ranked nationally for the first time.
Building on the School Sisters of Notre Dame’s charism, Cherney created the Institute for the Advancement of Women and Children with four Centers of Excellence. One of the innovations emerging from these centers is the AWS powered GenAI Bot (Culturabot ®) that was created to be able to serve underrepresented populations with individualized culturally responsive care plans.
She earned her Ph.D. in educational psychology and cultural studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her M.A. in developmental psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Creighton University.
