Diversity. It’s a word we hear so often in our workplaces, in school and in our day-to-day interactions. Diversity can refer to gender, socioeconomics, education, religion, age or culture. Diversity can even be spoken about in terms of differences in thoughts, words and deeds. Differences in how we look, act and think create many challenges, but also many opportunities to come together and celebrate our uniqueness.
In 2020, the Luncheons will address diversity and the many ways it manifests itself in all areas of our lives. Since 1833, the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) have committed to helping children and adults from all walks of life. They have created a variety of ministries that serve diverse groups of people. They welcome women from across North America and around the world into the Congregation. Embracing diversity in community and throughout their ministries has helped the congregation work together to proclaim the good news, directing their entire lives toward that oneness for which Jesus Christ was sent.
