On January 20, 2018, the newly elected General Council for the School Sisters of Notre Dame congregation was installed at the Generalate in Rome. Six sisters from around the world were elected to serve the congregation for the next six years.
Sister Roxanne Schares, of the African Province, was elected the General Superior, and is the 12th successor to Blessed Theresa, SSND’s foundress. Sisters Kathleen Storms of the Central Pacific Province, Inês Camiran of the Latin American and Caribbean Province, Carolyn Anyega of the African Province, Julianne Lattner of the Atlantic-Midwest Province and M. Martina Radež of the Slovenian Province will also serve on the General Council.
