As a Laudato Si’ congregation, School Sisters of Notre Dame, Central Pacific Province embarks on year five of a seven-year journey toward an integral ecology. Our 2026-2027 Laudato Si’ Action Plan reflects existing SSND values and priorities rooted in You Are Sent and Love Gives Everything, as well as our desire to respond proactively and creatively to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.

For year five, we are looking at Laudato Si’ through our more personal experiences while considering the words of Blessed Theresa, “The heart forms itself according to what it loves.” We all relate to nature and creation differently and discerning what goals of Laudato Si’ speak to us the most can help motivate and inspire actions which are most meaningful.

Additionally, this year, we acknowledge the realities of life do not always allow for a one-size-fits-all approach, so we are embracing what is truly possible given our individual, departmental, and ministry situations. We remember that small actions count too.

There is always a way to participate, and we are looking forward to a year of personal and purposeful engagement around the care of creation. Join us!
