Featured Speaker:Cecelia Gore, Executive Director of the Brewers Community Foundation, Inc.

Cecelia Iris Gore is a senior level executive with extensive experience leading community/external affairs, foundation and sports philanthropy and nonprofit management. She is a collaborative leader and change agent with a passion for excellence and impact. She has more than 30 years of engagement and leveraging of resources that improve the quality of life for children and their families. Gore has successfully created a dynamic and lasting network of individuals and organizational leaders that have collaborated to foster corporate, community and nonprofit solutions.

Currently Gore leads Brewers Community Foundation, the charitable arm of Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club (MLB). Successes include leading the rebranding efforts that positioned the organization to be thoughtful, dependable, philanthropic leaders in Greater Milwaukee and Major League Baseball. Efforts to carry out the mission of the organization have generated in excess of $20M in support of nonprofit organizations strategically extending financial support that provides quality programming in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs. Several agency endowments have been established during her tenure to assure that Foundation activities continue in perpetuity.

Previous professional roles include serving as Program Director (sole staff member) for the Jane Bradley Pettit Foundation. The Pettit Foundation, established in 1988, represents one of the largest independent and most active foundations in the history of Greater Milwaukee philanthropy. Gore was also employed by Wisconsin Gas/a WICOR Company and WE Energies focusing the majority of her tenure on external relations.

In addition to her professional experience, current nonprofit board commitments include serving as a board member for the Greater Milwaukee Foundation (Community Investment and Awards Committee), City Year (Governance Committee), Milwaukee Film (Fund Development Committee), Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation and as a Trustee for Alverno College (Governance Committee Chair; Fund Development Committee). From 2007-2014 Gore served as a Director for North Milwaukee State Bank (Loan and Marketing Committee).

An active community leader, with effective engagement in a variety of capital/community campaigns that have generated millions of dollars of support e.g. United Way and United Performing Arts Fund annual campaigns, Alverno Promise and Power Capital Campaign, Sojourner Family Peace Center to name a few. She frequently serves as an advisor to various foundations and corporate executives particularly as it relates to crafting strategy that effectively impacts community.

Gore graduated from Alverno College with a bachelor’s in communication and business and a master’s of business administration. She completed the Harvard Business School Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management.
