Nun Buddies Make Connections

Notre Dame High School students and School Sisters of Notre Dame in St. Louis get to know each other at several events throughout the school year. These pairings are called Nun Buddies.

The Nun Buddies came together on Oct. 22, 2014 at Theresa Center on the Sancta Maria in Ripa campus in celebration of SSND Foundation Day. Approximately 40 sisters and 60 students gathered prior to an all-school Mass to introduce themselves and share conversation.

Many of these Nun Buddy pairings will stay together each year the student participates. Some even stay connected following graduation.

At the gathering, the students and sisters took group “selfies,” photos they take of themselves with an iPad or cell phone. A more formal photo of each Nun Buddy group also was taken and presented to the sisters.

The next Nun Buddy event will be a Christmas party.
