Featured Speaker:Sheila Madigan Levantino

Sheila Madigan Levatino has been a marriage and family therapist for 23 years. She also is a trained spiritual director.

Her first steps into the world of lay religious professional ministry was in hospital chaplaincy at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where she trained in the art and skills of ministering to patients, families and hospital staff in dealing with spiritual questions and seeking prayerful comfort in the face of illness. Sheila continued this ministry for almost 10 years.

Upon leaving this specialized ministry, Sheila earned a master’s of theological studies at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, with a concentration in marriage and family therapy. She has engaged in the practice of helping individuals, couples and families deal with issues that have impeded their joy and fulfillment.

Sheila has written several spiritual autobiographies over the years as part of her various trainings and always documents the role of Catholic schools with the education by the nuns as paramount. They were models of smart and deeply religious women who wanted girls to excel. Sheila states she has been lifted up by this reality all of her life.

Sheila is married with four children, three step-children and 11 grandchildren. Sheila considers herself very blessed.
